Product Summary

Orbitkey's new tech pouch comes in two colours, black and terracotta, with a matching pencil case offered as an additional extra. The tech pouch has an internal smaller pouch, aptly named the desk pouch. This is designed to go with you to work, and hold the essentials. The desk pouch has a few elasticated loops, and a wide back section to hold a powerbank, with 3 mesh pockets for holding small items. Personally, the desk pouch is often zipped up and kept in my work-bag, or sling bag depending on the day.

The larger pouch holds plugs, and cables I will use less frequently, perfect for home organisation or a holiday. The main pouch also has a front zipped pocket. I have put cables that have elasticated reusable ties in here, as some areas in the main compartments it tries to stick to. The tech pouch is not a hard shell, meaning it will mould to a degree, based on what you put in.

I will share what I keep in my tech pouch in a dedicated section. When combined, both pouches offer pen loops, mesh pockets, dividers and elasticated loops.

Pros

  • Made from recycled polyester and PET plastic
  • A few different carry handles
  • Removable internal pouch for smaller items
  • Cable pass through from the main compartment
  • Many mesh pockets, dividers and elasticated loops
  • A foldable divider, to store headphones
  • Two-year limited warranty
  • Expandable design, will mould to some bulky cables

Cons

  • Zips are not branded; however, they feel easy to use
  • Arrived in a single use grey plastic bag.
  • Only two colour options
  • The smaller pouch can be difficult to stand up right if the weight is not balanced.

What I Like About the 2-in-1 Tech Pouch?

As someone who works in education and likes to be prepared for whatever life throws at me, I always like to carry the means to charge my technology. The smaller internal pouch easily fits in my work-bag and sling bag. The ability to zip the pouch keeps everything nicely inside, though the elasticated loops keep everything in place.

The larger pouch stores some of my less used cables, for ease of use, and holds items on hand for travelling on holiday. The ability to open the larger pockets into one means you can store headphones; however, I do not have any bulky ones. The large pouch also has an external zipped pocket allowing you to store smaller cables or utilise the cable pass through, allowing you to charge your phone or headphones. While the zips are not branded, they feel premium and have not caught on the material, though I always take care when zipping products up.

What Do I Dislike About the 2-in-1 Tech Pouch?

I was hesitant about buying the Orbitkey 2-in-1 Tech Pouch at first, perhaps overwhelmed by the amount of elasticated loops and pockets. Personally, I had a hard time thinking how I'd fill every space, leading me to feel it wouldn't work for me. Secondly, I found it difficult to store everything I knew I'd need on holiday, such as cables for my technology, shaver and more. This took up the majority of the large pockets. Having searched for USB-C rechargeable batteries and an adapter which utilises USB-C to charge my shaver, I have cut down on what I need to carry, opening up the space.

Since buying the pouch I haven't utilised every pocket and loop and come to realise this is a good thing. The space left that I have not utilised I may fill at a later date, giving me the scope to add more. The pouch has allowed me to declutter some cables and now holds the essentials for travelling and an easy way to locate a cable at home.

Conclusion

Overall, I have managed to utilise the Orbitkey tech pouch to store the majority of my technology. By utilising smaller accessories such as a USB-C charger for my shaver, and USB-C rechargeable batteries, I have saved space carrying bulky plugs and cables. I am also using a separate pouch by OneNine5 which I have previously used, to store all my camera accessories, such as batteries, clothes, SD cards, adapter and more. This is stored with my camera equipment at home.
